This is your most potent Tarot Deck yet,  sooooooooo easy to read……beyond easy…….I can just pick any card and not only is it spot on but soooooooooooo easy to read and the art is the best…

You’ve even got some of the females looking sensual which I freaking love,  they should ooze sensuality(but not on all cards as it gets in the way of deciphering the card.

LOVE this deck……..Love the gold gilding…….I’m so glad you chose gold….

If I could only have ONE tarot deck, ie I had to drop everything and disappear with just my passports and rucksack,  I’d bring two of these with Me(one sealed) and that would be it.

That would be all I needed.

INFINITELY EXCELLENT WORK.  ……….Jester

Your decks stand out!

One of the reasons is one of the most difficult aspects of creating a tarot deck.

They have a simplicity that stands out and at the same time a depth any Tarot student should understand. I’ve gifted many people your decks, possibly the most decks I’ve given

to people I know, Love and have Tarot as part of their life.

Thank you for doing all you do, it Shines brightly!

Here is a recent comment form Mark Pappler:

What can I say, Robert… I have a number of your decks. I believe I have all editions of the Alchemical Tarot. I use Sevenfold Mystery as my deck of choice when reading for someone. But Alchemical Tarot Reimagined is, for me, the finest deck you’ve ever done. I am blown away by how gifted you are! It’s quite a feat to keep advancing this concept with such creativity and insight. I just received Reimagined and ordered a second one. I just needed to congratulate you!

In August, 1987, during the time of the Harmonic Convergence, I was studying an alchemical image that symbolized the Philosopher’s Stone, the mystical goal of the alchemical Great Work, and I had a flash of insight. It seemed that the image had unlocked a secret door in my mind and in an instant I saw that the alchemical Great Work and the story told in the Tarot’s trumps were interchangeable. I immediately picked up my copy of Jung’s Psychology and Alchemy and began to make notes in the margins next to the alchemical images comparing them to Tarot cards. This was the beginning of a process that would take several years. The fruit of this insight and labor was The Alchemical Tarot, which was first published by Thorsons, a division of Harper/Collins, in London in 1995.

The Star card on the left is the first card that I designed for The Alchemical Tarot in the 1980s. It was the first card to be published when it was included in Gnosis Magazine in 1989. The card on the right is the new 2025 Star for The Alchemical Tarot Reimagined.

Thirty years later, and after six previous editions of the deck, I have redrawn the cards.
Working with the deck during this time, seeing how these images communicate in readings,
and seeing how my artistic abilities have grown, I believed that it was time to redesign and reimagine the deck. Like the 6th edition, this version contains a twenty-second trump card,
called Veritas or Truth.

The card on the left from The Alchemical Tarot 6th Edition is based on the drawing that I did for Rosemary Ellen Guiley. The card on the right is included in the new Alchemical Tarot Reimagined.

Shortly after the 1st edition of The Alchemical Tarot was published, in 1995, my partner on the 1st book, Rosemary Ellen Guiley, had a vision. Hermes Trismegistus came to her in the middle of the night to show her the 22nd trump. She described the scene to me, and I drew an illustration for her. After studying the drawing for several years, I realized that the pyramid composed of four solid layers and three invisible layers represented the Pythagorean Tetractys, a symbol of emanation, symbolizing how the invisible divine essence creates the visible world. The new version for this deck is a reimagining of the illustration that I originally made for Rosemary.

The Empress and Emperor are represented by the White Queen and the Red King. They are joined together in the baptismal fount on the Lovers card as they were depicted in the Rosarium Philosophurm.
Rosarium Philosophurm, 1550
The Chariot is based on my personal vision when I entered the card in meditation.

The Fool and trumps in The Alchemical Tarot each relate to a material or process, which is part of the Magnum Opus (great work) of alchemy that leads to the creation of the Philosopher’s Stone, a mystical catalyst that transforms what it touches into its highest form. Composed of the mysterious 5th element it can cure any illness, turn lead into gold, and turn an ordinary person into and enlightened sage. The Magnum Opus proceeds through four stages denoted by their color: The Nigredo (black), the Albedo (White), the Citrinitas (yellow), and the Rubedo (red).

In the Magnum Opus, the Fool enters the Nigredo and proceeds to the World, the Rubedo.
The Hermit is searching for the Anima Mundi
The pit of the Nigredo is represented by Death and the Devil
The Moon and Sun represent the Albedo and the Citrinitas.

A symbol representing its alchemical process is displayed on each trump. The Philosopher’s Stone, is represented by the World card. The four minor suits are related to the four alchemical elements: Earth, Water, Air, and Fire, and each of these elements is related to one of the four functions of consciousness as described by Jung: sensation, intuition, thinking, and feeling respectively. Thus the feminine elements align with the passive observational functions: sensation and intuition, and the masculine elements align with the. active decision making functions: thinking and feeling.

Each Ace depicts its suit symbol in its element, with its elemental animal, and a civilization representing one of the four cardinal directions.
The suit of Coins depicts historic coins
Batons are torches to align them with their element
Cups are represented by Italian maiolica apothecary jars
Swords may represent positive or negative energy
Four Sixes
Ladies instead of Pages
The Queens are goddesses
The Kings are powerful elemental animals
