While Scott’s original intent was to explore the images in Robert Place’s Alchemical Tarot and relate them to Covid-19, his process opens the door to a personal intrapsychic experience for each of us and may be applied to any tarot deck and topic. Much like psychological projective tests which are intended to uncover feelings, desires, or conflicts that are out of our conscious awareness, Scott’s exercise of selecting a card each day and exploring it in relation to one topic or theme allows us to initially bring to mind what is in conscious awareness. Scott Martin began pursuing his fascination with Tarot after retiring from teaching, both on the secondary and college levels in 2009.
